Enviroboard Coffin Technology is a commercially viable method for manufacturing coffins and caskets from environmentally friendly materials such as corrugated cardboard, closed cell cardboard and other forms of sandwiched fibres. LifeArt Internationals’ patent portfolio currently comprises a single patent family that contains a blank and a sidewall assembly for a coffin, made particularly from semi-flexible, low cost, biodegradable materials. In essence, the patent covers the design elements that provide the strength and functionality of the coffinincluding:

• volume, with volume, the unit price is significantly cheaper than MDF and wood,

• construction, made from 97% recycled fibres from cardboard and sugar cane waste the units weigh only 10 kg, and produce 60% less CO2 emissions,
• regulatory requirements, it meets funeral industry and regulatory requirements - suitable for refrigeration, range of weather conditions, body transport, lift and carry by handles or shouldered, up to 250 kg carrying capacity. Suitable for viewing, cremation, burial and natural burial,
• flexability, it can be manufactured in almost any size, shape or finishes such as wood grains, simple colours, personalised artworks, photos, team colours etc, and
