Customer Stories :: Cruising my way
Alan knew he had just a few weeks to make his final plans. He asked me to sort through all his funeral plans so there would be no concerns for his partner Jenny.
...” I don’t want a fuss . All I want is a simple service down on the local beach; few stories told, Jen to read my toast to all those I love, and then all my mates riding off together down the highway till they hit the coast”.
The only thing he could not settle on was a coffin. Alan had always bucked tradition, and the traditional coffin just didn’t fit.
I showed Alan a number of ideas knowing too well in advance that none would work from all he has told me beforehand.
Jenny felt he was hanging in there – as he tried to complete all his plans. When I found the “Open Road” design I really felt I had found what Alan was searching for.
I drove to his place late that night and showed Alan the coffin photo, saying we could even get a Harley for his final ride.
He looked at the design, simply turned to Jenny and I and said
“Its Ok …I can go now”.
